FLU SHOT OR NOT?? That is the Question....
So here it goes, I never considered on getting a flu shot especially since I rarely get sick. But one day at my office, we had a doctor give out flu shots to employees and so I finally got one. Now I always wondered what this so called "vaccine" really is and/or what is really does to the human body. I, for one is really BIG on "natural" and "real" ingredients but somehow injected myself with a "in-active" virus. (What was I thinking to not do my proper research study on this issue prior before it happened?) Apparently they say that it tricks your body into thinking that its has the flu virus and builds up anti-bodies to fight against it. However, I don't think this can be a good solution to the prevention of this virus. Nor do I think its a good idea to "Punk" the body...Because Homie don't play that!! haha
Anyway, its been about 3 weeks after getting the flu shot for the 1st time & I have already been sick 2 times....So at this point, I completely call "Bullshit"! & I don't like the taste of it! You can decide what you think is best for you...but as for me, NEVER again will I get any type of vaccine. They are full of harmful ingredients that may cause more long term damage.
Only time will tell, as for now...we are just guinea pigs!! So make sure you keep you immune system boosted with getting lots of proper sleep & eating the right foods & vitamins.

When you're in the mood, it's a sure bet that the last thing on your mind is boosting your immune system or maintaining a healthy weight. Yet good sex offers those health benefits and more. That's a surprise to many people, says Joy Davidson, PhD, a New York psychologist and sex therapist. "Of course, sex is everywhere in the media," she says. "But the idea that we are vital, sexual creatures is still looked at in some cases with disgust or in other cases a bit of embarrassment. So to really take a look at how our sexuality adds to our life and enhances our life and our health, both physical and psychological, is eye-opening for many people."Sex does a body good in a number of ways, according to Davidson and other experts. The benefits aren't just anecdotal or hearsay -- each of these 10 health benefits of sex is backed by scientific scrutiny.
1. Sex Relieves Stress
A big health benefit of sex is lower blood pressure and overall stress reduction, according to researchers from Scotland who reported their findings in the journal Biological Psychology. They studied 24 women and 22 men who kept records of their sexual activity. Then the researchers subjected them to stressful situations -- such as speaking in public and doing verbal arithmetic -- and noted their blood pressure response to stress.Those who had intercourse had better responses to stress than those who engaged in other sexual behaviors or abstained.
Another study published in the same journal found that frequent intercourse was associated with lower diastolic blood pressure in cohabiting participants. Yet other research found a link between partner hugs and lower blood pressure in women.
2. Sex Boosts Immunity
Good sexual health may mean better physical health. Having sex once or twice a week has been linked with higher levels of an antibody called immunoglobulin A or IgA, which can protect you from getting colds and other infections. Scientists at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., took samples of saliva, which contain IgA, from 112 college students who reported the frequency of sex they had.Those in the "frequent" group -- once or twice a week -- had higher levels of IgA than those in the other three groups -- who reported being abstinent, having sex less than once a week, or having it very often, three or more times weekly.
3. Sex Burns Calories
Thirty minutes of sex burns 85 calories or more. It may not sound like much, but it adds up: 42 half-hour sessions will burn 3,570 calories, more than enough to lose a pound. Doubling up, you could drop that pound in 21 hour-long sessions."Sex is a great mode of exercise," says Patti Britton, PhD, a Los Angeles sexologist and president of the American Association of Sexuality Educators and Therapists. It takes work, from both a physical and psychological perspective, to do it well, she says.
4. Sex Improves Cardiovascular Health
While some older folks may worry that the efforts expended during sex could cause a stroke, that's not so, according to researchers from England. In a study published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, scientists found that the frequency of sex was not associated with stroke in the 914 men they followed for 20 years.And the heart health benefits of sex don't end there. The researchers also found that having sex twice or more a week reduced the risk of fatal heart attack by half for the men, compared with those who had sex less than once a month.
5. Sex Boosts Self-Esteem
Boosting self-esteem was one of 237 reasons people have sex, collected by University of Texas researchers and published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior.That finding makes sense to Gina Ogden, PhD, a sex therapist and marriage and family therapist in Cambridge, Mass., although she finds that those who already have self-esteem say they sometimes have sex to feel even better. "One of the reasons people say they have sex is to feel good about themselves," she tells WebMD. "Great sex begins with self-esteem, and it raises it. If the sex is loving, connected, and what you want, it raises it."
6. Sex Improves Intimacy
Having sex and orgasms increases levels of the hormone oxytocin, the so-called love hormone, which helps us bond and build trust. Researchers from the University of Pittsburgh and the University of North Carolina evaluated 59 premenopausal women before and after warm contact with their husbands and partners ending with hugs. They found that the more contact, the higher the oxytocin levels."Oxytocin allows us to feel the urge to nurture and to bond," Britton says.
Higher oxytocin has also been linked with a feeling of generosity. So if you're feeling suddenly more generous toward your partner than usual, credit the love hormone.
7. Sex Reduces Pain
As the hormone oxytocin surges, endorphins increase, and pain declines. So if your headache, arthritis pain, or PMS symptoms seem to improve after sex, you can thank those higher oxytocin levels.In a study published in the Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 48 volunteers who inhaled oxytocin vapor and then had their fingers pricked lowered their pain threshold by more than half.
8. Sex Reduces Prostate Cancer Risk
Frequent ejaculations, especially in 20-something men, may reduce the risk of prostate cancer later in life, Australian researchers reported in the British Journal of Urology International. When they followed men diagnosed with prostate cancer and those without, they found no association of prostate cancer with the number of sexual partners as the men reached their 30s, 40s, and 50s.But they found men who had five or more ejaculations weekly while in their 20s reduced their risk of getting prostate cancer later by a third.
Another study, reported in the Journal of the American Medical Association, found that frequent ejaculations, 21 or more a month, were linked to lower prostate cancer risk in older men, as well, compared with less frequent ejaculations of four to seven monthly.
9. Sex Strengthens Pelvic Floor Muscles
For women, doing a few pelvic floor muscle exercises known as Kegel exercises during sex offers a couple of benefits. You will enjoy more pleasure, and you'll also strengthen the area and help to minimize the risk of incontinence later in life.To do a basic Kegel exercise, tighten the muscles of your pelvic floor, as if you're trying to stop the flow of urine. Count to three, then release.
10. Sex Helps You Sleep Better
The oxytocin released during orgasm also promotes sleep, according to research.And getting enough sleep has been linked with a host of other good things, such as maintaining a healthy weight and blood pressure. Daily Morning Stretch-Getting the Body's Circulation Flowing!
Stretching in the morning is a great way to "waken" up your muscles, and get them ready for the day. Stretching losens up your body while increasing blood flow to your muscles.
Incorporating morning stretches into your daily routine is a positive way to begin each day, so instead of hitting the snooze button in the morning, take the extra 10 minutes to stretch. It's a great way to get the juices going in the morning and ease away any stress or tension from the previous day's activity or a funky sleeping position.
Most importantly that we must realize that as we age...we tighten up & are even more prone to injury.
Stretching positions should include each of the major muscle groups and should be held for at least 20 seconds or longer to get the maximum benefit in loosen up muscles. Be sure to hold the stretch… most people like to bounce in their stretches, leading to injury, which is one of the main reasons why you are stretching in the first place.
Stretching can be a great means of a nice “cool down”, after a workout as well & is ideal but ultimately you want to prevent this build up of lactic acid to create increased mobility for the following days to come. It definitely won’t prevent soreness all together, but it will help to get you back into the gym and continue on in the journey towards a healthy living. With this being said, a light, 5-minute cardio session should follow your stretching to cleanse the blood of all the lactic acid floating around in the body.
Samples:
Stretch #1
1)Sit on the edge of your bed with your feet on the floor.
2)Bend over, reaching your hands toward your feet.
3)Arch your back.
4)Hold for a count of 10.
5)Repeat 5 more times.
Stretch #2
1)Remain seated on the edge of your bed with your feet on the floor.
2)Rotate your neck in a circle, touching your ears to your shoulders.
3)Rotate slowly in a clockwise direction 5 times.
4)Rotate slowly in a counter clockwise direction 5 times.
Stretch #3
1)Remain seated on the edge of your bed with your feet on the floor.
2)Shrug your shoulders up to your ears.
3)Repeat 10 more times.
Stretch #4
1)Stand next to your bed.
2)Lace your fingers together.
3)Raise your hands above your head, palms upward.
4)Lift up stretching your rib cage.
5)Hold for a count of 10.
6)Repeat 5 more times.
Stretch #5
1)Remain stading next to your bed.
2)Bend over and touch your fingers to your toes while keeping your knees straight.
3)Hold for a count of 10.
4)Repeat 5 more times.
Or if you don't even want to leave the bed..here is a lil cheat stretch sheesh: So now you have NO MORE EXCUSES!!
Upward Stretch
It's a little cliche, but I always greet the morning by raising my arms — it's a great way to get the blood flowing and wake up the body. Lace your fingers together and raise your hands above your head, palms facing upward. Elongate your spine and feel the stretch in your ribcage and arms. Hold for a count of ten and then incorporate a sitting side stretch into the sequence to target your torso.
Neck and Shoulder Stretch
I love doing neck and shoulder stretches in the morning as a way to ease tension that can happen while sleeping. To stretch the muscles on the right side of your neck, turn your left ear over to your left shoulder and hold for twenty seconds. Repeat on the other side to stretch out your left side. Relax for a moment and then roll your shoulders to the back, and then to the front. Then lift them right up to your ears, tensing the muscles, and allow them to drop completely. Repeat this entire sequence three times.
Spinal Twist
A spinal twist is a great way to relieve stress in your lower back. Hold the pose for at least 30 seconds on each side and don't be alarmed if you hear some "cracks" in your spine when you twist your spine. Don't force anything here, just feel your spinal column wringing itself out after a good night's sleep.
You are now warmed up and ready to start your day!
These exercises can be performed daily to help keep you limber.
Hamstring Stretch
I love the feeling of a good hamstring stretch, and when I stretch them in bed, you don't have to worry about falling over! Make sure that when you do this stretch your pelvis is square (keep your hips centered and flat). Think of this stretch as a way to wake up your legs, rather than helping you make it into the splits. Circle your ankles a few times in each direction, too.
You are now warmed up and ready to start your day!

7 Essential Vitamins for a Healthy Body
There are several essential vitamins for woman, which help maintain a healthy mind & fit body. The required amount of intake of these vitamins varies according to your stage of life. For instance, if you are pregnant you need more folic acid. If you are in your menopausal years, you need more of the bone strengthening vitamin D.

We hold onto material objects because we think they make us feel secure, when in reality they are cluttering our lives.
In life, we tend to have an easier time acquiring possessions than we do getting rid of them. Just as we harbor emotional baggage that is difficult to let go of, our lives can tend to be filled with material objects that we may feel compelled to hold on to. Most people are not conscious of how much they own and how many of their possessions are no longer adding value to their life. They fiercely hold on to material objects because this makes them feel secure or comfortable. While it’s true that the ownership of “stuff” can make you feel good for awhile, it seldom satisfies the deep inner longings that nearly everyone has for fulfillment and satisfaction. It is only when we are ready to let go of our baggage and be vulnerable that it becomes possible to recognize the emotional hold that our possessions can have on us.
It’s not uncommon to hold on to material objects because we are attached to them or fear the empty spaces that will remain if we get rid of them. Giving away the souvenirs from a beloved voyage may feel like we are erasing the memory of that time in our life. We may also worry that our loved ones will feel hurt if we don’t keep the gifts they’ve given us. It’s easy to convince ourselves that unused possessions might come in handy someday or that parting with them will cause you emotional pain. However, when your personal space is filled with objects, there is no room for anything new to enter and stay in your life. Your collection of belongings may “protect” you from the uncertainties of an unknown future while keeping you stuck in the past. Holding on to unnecessary possessions often goes hand in hand with holding on to pain, anger, and resentment, and letting go of your material possessions may help you release emotional baggage.
When you make a conscious decision to fill your personal space with only the objects that you need or bring you joy, your energy level will soar. Clearing your personal space can lead to mental clarity and an improved memory. As you learn to have a more practical and temporary relationship to objects, positive changes will happen, and you’ll have space to create the life that you desire.

There may be benefits to working out in heels, but those leg-lengtheners can also be bad news for your body. Constant heel wearing can lead to a host of problems, from inflamed nerves to long-term joint problems. Scary stuff, right? I'm a high-heel fan, but after listening to a long explanation (read: lecture) about the horrible effects of high heels from my trainer last week, I've been trying to combat a bit of the damage. Read on for three important types of strengthening and stretching exercises for anyone who is head over heels for high heels.
- Calves. Hoofing it on heels leaves your calf muscles in a shortened position, which can mean weakened muscles when the heels come off. Remember to stretch out your calves after wearing heels in order to give them relief.
- Ankles. Walking on stick-thin stiletto heels is no small feat. To help prevent a tumble and serious injury, incorporate simple exercises that strengthen your ankles, like walking on your tiptoes and doing squats on the Bosu.
- Balance. The lift you get from wearing heels also challenges your body's sense of equilibrium, which can mean a lot of muscles are working to keep you upright. This can lead to more pressure on your lower back, so add a few yoga moves to your morning routine, trace the alphabet with one foot while standing on one leg, and focus on ab-strengthening exercises in order to help your body reposition itself correctly when you've strutting with those four-inchers.
- Achilles tendon. If you're a regular heel wearer, switching abruptly from heels to flats can cause Achilles tendonitis — when your Achilles tendon, which attaches to your calf muscle, becomes inflamed. Make sure you keep your Achilles tendon happy with a few strengthening stretches like this one: stand on a step or curb with your heels hanging off, and rise up and down on your toes.

The 13 Laws 2 Live Happy in LA~ (in a Nutshell!) by Craig Clemens
Ah, Los Angeles. The City of Angels. But in this town it can
feel like you are living among some devils sometimes… and
guess what... you are.
While Los Angeles has been good to me both personally and
professionally, I realize that I am fortunate. This city can
chew you up and beat you down. I've seen too many people
show up with big eyes and big dreams only to run back to
their hometown with their tail between their legs 6 months
later with nothing to show for it but an empty bank account
and a broken soul.

But this isn't even the worst of it. There is some serious
fucking partying going on in this town (winning?) and hey -
it's a lot of fun. So much fun that it's easy to get sucked in…
and before you know it you could find yourself at 50 years
old still snapping cell phone pics of the sunrise from a
stranger's house in the hills on a random Tuesday morn.

I used to feel that I NEEDED to go out 3-4 nights a week just
to keep in touch with my friends, the scene, blah blah blah.

MILK- It DOESN'T Do a Body Good!!!
I must say that I used to Love Milk!! I would prob drink about 3 glasses a day. However, after further review of such research studies, I've decided MILK-It Doesn't do a Body Good at all!! You can get the same amount of calcium from greens/lettuces. Don't be brainwashed to what the media feeds you.

How it all works-The Earth & the Tectonic Plates
Its happening~& it all starts with the Earth's core & the tectonic plates...causing a natural reaction as well as disaster!
After doing my research studies last night, upon the warning of a tsunami hitting California from Japan enduring the Largest earthquake ever in history with a magnitude of 8.9, I decided to evaluate the possibilities that California & all around the world can actually endure.
Scientific evidence has proved that this has happened in the past & is only bound to happen Now & in the Future!
We are living in an amazzzzing planet that is alive & thriving...floating in outer space, undergoing its natural evolution while enduring the consequences of human destruction...
